More translations!

  • restaurant
  • at, in
  • pain
  • stomach ache
  • chinese broccoli

I wanted to add more than that but I had a really busy weekend and I needed a nap today.

I also fixed a really small bug to prevent duplicates from showing up as syllables. I noticed that I had searched "chinese broccoli", and "Chinese broccoli" showed up as a synonym, and that was redundant.

Some new translations!

  • sour
  • rock
  • mountain
  • to climb
  • to go hiking

I've also added some extra notes for some translations, like hello and lime.

And finally, I made it so that if you try to search for a Chinese character that I don't have in my database, it now displays a message stating that.

Man, I get so busy with cooking and running errands and spending time with people that sometimes it's hard to find time to work on this site! But I was determined to make some time today! I added a few more translations:

  • chicken bouillon
  • to brush hair
  • tastes good
  • full (from eating)
  • word (written)

Now if you search "word", it'll show both 话 ue7 and 字 yi7. I'm not sure the word "word" is even the best English word to pick for a translation, but it'll do.

I've also made more recordings for some existing translations that for some reason didn't have a recording yet.

Finally, I've been listening to some audio lessons! The grammar he uses is a little different than what I'm used to, but it's good to listen to and to learn more about how other people speak Teochew. I've also started following some other Teochew people on Instagram to try and get better at listening and seeing what I can understand.

I did a little bit of reorganizing the database because I had some weird ways of including some translations of words that have a different gekion pronunciation than most of the other teochew dialects. You really shouldn't see any difference from this (if I did everything correctly), but now you can see an alternate pronuncation for some words, like with the number 7. It's under the More Details section.

That all ended up taking way longer than I'd like, but I did get to squeeze in a few new translations:

  • to wake up
  • how much
  • broken
  • one's self

And I've added some more audio clips for some translations that didn't have them! (Like with the word "electricity")

Man, I've been busy over the past week with lots of meetups. Anyway, I've added a few more translations:

  • to hear
  • oyster (and oyster sauce)
  • to remember
  • to forget
