There are many different variations in the way people say "today" in Teochew! My dad's family tends to say geng1 yek8, and my mom's family tends to say gian(6) yek8. And while I mainly have the 揭阳 Gekion pronunciations on this site, I have also included gim1 yik8, which I think is the 潮州 "Teochew-proper" way of saying it.
